A Field In England … quite simply genius

I went to see A Field In England on the big screen. Quite frankly I thought it was amazing. It’s a period piece about the civil war in Britain. It’s black and white and plays with psychedelic sights and sounds. It’s a contained thriller set in a field. It’s troubling and scary. The script lacks exposition leaving room for your own interpretation and imagination to fill in the gaps. It’s brave and challenging like so few genre pics … It was shot in 12 days for £300k. I applaud Wheatley and his team for adding something truly cinematic to the contemporary film canon.
